Want your own Bail Bonds? Book is a MUST READ,
By
This review is from: How To Start A Bail Bond Business And Become A Bail Bondsman (Paperback)
If you are someone considering the entrepreneur's penultimate foray---owning and operating a bail bond business--- Richard Verrochi's book, "How to Start a Bail Bond Business and Become a Bondsman", is both commendable and, really, indispensible.
A former stockbroker, Mr. Verrochi succinctly, and yet quite clearly gives an overview of the history of bail, its role in the justice system, and the risks and rewards involved. One of the more appealing aspects of the work is that although each state posits its own rules governing the industry, Verrochi has created a work which might be regarded as a universal manual; from Alaska to Maine, the principles, "secrets" and recipes for success are all laid out. Verrochi's own personal enthusiasm for the industry is clearly evident as he explains why he left his former profession (undoubtedly lucrative) to venture into the unknown world of bail. Like a beacon in a sea of the unknown, the book details the types of defendants one deals with, the symbiotic relationship between agency owner, managing general agents and surety companies, as well as providing an important overview of related businesses which can handsomely supplement one's income as a Bail Agency owner. Personally, I feel much more confident in my goal to have my own bail business, though not overly so. Bail, as "How to Start..", explains, is a lifestyle. On the one hand, it offers great freedom and flexibililty; on the other, it offers tremendous responsiblity and duty to the courts. One more thing: Though I'm not female, the book explains the depth of opportunities that exist for women who enter this profession. Clearly, the book is not just for men; anyone will benefit. If you are serious---or even just thinking about what it would be like to live a life where Bail is your lifestlye and The Boss is you, READ this book. Then, once you've read it, read it over and over again: It can only solidify your resolve to help you make a properly informed decision. Having familiarized myself with other works on the subject which are very good, I can't recommend this one highly enough.

This book is excellent. Wether you have worked in the business before or want to get in but have no experience. This book will take you step by step on how to get licensed, market, get surety,do's and don'ts everything. After you read this book you will feel as if you have interned under Richard Verrochi himself for years. The knowledge and contacts this book gives you is worth 100 times the price of the book and you know if you ever been in any business before that you never give up your contacts, thats what keeps you in business. Plus i took it a step further and e-mailed Richard Verrochi with some questions/help and he answered all my emails and responded to all my questions.MUST BUY BOOK!!!!

This is an okay start to learning about bail bonds. But after reading it, I really don't feel at all prepared to start.
The book is only about 120 pages long, double spaced, in large print. I read it in about an hour. It will give you a good idea of what a bail agent does, but very little about how to actually go about having a successful agency.

Thank you, Mr. Verrochi, for a great publication. This is a "must have" for anyone thinking about joining the industry, just beginning in the industry or even someone looking to grow their business in the right direction. This was not a typical "How To" book which is lengthy and sheds no more light on the topic than when you first began reading. The book is insightful and loaded with recommendations given from someone with a vast personal knowledge of this chosen career. His genuine love for this work shines throughout his book and beyond. I, too, took a chance and emailed Mr. Verrochi even though the publication date was from 2006 and to my surprise he responded and gave me the encouragement and wisedom I needed at an important time in the formation of my new business. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I looked at Bail Bonds 101&102 and am very glad I chose this book instead because it was everything I was looking for and more. This has been my Bible (I am currently on my second read through) and I strongly recommend you make it yours TODAY!!

As someone interested in the bail bond business, but without any prior knowledge of it, I found this book to be an excellent read. Whereas I often find books can get bogged down over-explaining subjects, Mr. Verrochi gets to the point and addresses subjects succinctly. The book provides the insights of somebody that has been in the business, and sticks to the points that are unique to bail bonding. I really don't need a book about bail bonding to try and explain how to select an office computer, or any of the other topics that are not unique to bail bonding. Thankfully this book does not make that mistake, the bulk of the material is focused on the facts about bail bonding that an outsider would likely not be aware of.
For anybody considering entering the bail bonding business I think this book will prove to be very valuable. I spent a good bit of time searching the Internet for information about bail bonding and what I found pales in comparison to the material found in this book. |
