Helpful information but on the verge of being dated,
By A Customer
This review is from: Start Your Own Computer Repair Business/Book and Disk (Entrepreneurial PC Series) (Paperback)
This book is a mix of useful and dated information. Useful are the profiles of others who have broken into the business and the section on hardware and tools. The book has a 1995 publication date so the section on software comes under the "dated" heading. Windows 3.1 and DOS coverage are virtually useless. And don't bother to look for Internet sources-they are not there. To sum up, as long as the reader is willing to ignore the out of date items he may be able to get some use out of this title. Otherwise, wait for an update.

Not interesting at all,

The book I feel was a waste of money. The authors just re-hashed what a person of average intelligence would do if they were to go into business. If you have no clue about computers and something posessed you to go into a computer business, then this book is for you.

For a 1995 publishing book, the info was very detailed and useful. And USEFUL is the keyword for any book. Haven't used the enclosed diskette yet, but looking forward to it. Excitely awaiting a '98 version from the authors, Rohrbough & Hordeski. |
