5.0 out of 5 stars A great, enjoyable teaching tool for all ages.
I teach children ages 11-16. Some are special education students and others are gifted. 3.0 out of 5 stars Gray's Anatomy Coloring Book
I bought this in the hope of updating my anatomy knowledge from nursing days. It is a great book - but only for young students who know nothing about anatomy -for them it is a good starting place and will give them a good basic grounding.

For me it was disappointing!

I teach children ages 11-16. Some are special education students and others are gifted. I wanted a life science curriculum that would be highly motivational, easy to understand and would teach the real names and concepts. I, myself, do not have a strong scienc background. i knew I would be learning along with my students. Truth is, I purchased three anatomy coloring books, but only this one did the trick. It appeals to the kids, has clearer drawings and more simplified text with catchy sub-headings than the other texts I tried. It is also geared for real learning and introduces concepts as well as vocabulary about human anatomy. I highly recommend this text for beginners. It can be used as independent work or even, just-for-fun, free-time work in the classroom or at home.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great reinforcer of previously learned lessons..., September 14, 2002
By A Customer
I was advised by a homeschooling guide to buy this book for my science classes some time ago. I am pleased to say that I did not regret the decision I made to purchase it, as this is an excellent book! At first, I was surprised that a coloring book would be recommended as an educational tool for a first year high school student, but it was actually very helpful to me. Once I was finished completing it, I was delighted to see how vivid and realistic the illustrations became. So delighted that I bought a copy for my younger siblings to try (aged 7-10). Unfortunately they found it a little too daunting, so I'd have to say that it's not the best book for a ten year old or younger. However, if you're looking for a challenging, educational book for a student aged eleven or up, then you should try this one. You might even find yourself picking up a marker and coloring with him.

This book help me to understand anatomy and physiology like I was a three year old and learning like it was easy as drinking water. It Is a very good book to have as a reference in the future. It also help me to get back into the swing of things since I spent the last 6 years in the Army doing a job that had nothing to do with my Degree field which is sports medicine.

1.0 out of 5 stars save your money, November 9, 2006
This coloring book is not user-friendly. The pictures are not clearly defined and make it hard to discern what's what in the picture. Look for another book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Start Exploring (tm) Gray's Anatomy, October 9, 2005
I recommend this to anyone interested in learning anatomy. It's a fun way to learn what's what in you body by coloring your systems. Excellent visual way to learn.

I am a nurse and I can always use a good review. This did that and then some. I also love to bring out the colored pencils and this was as fun as it was informative. Thanks for the fun review!

3.0 out of 5 stars coloring anatomy, May 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was a bit disappointed when I received this book. It has detailed pictures to color but lacks any kind of instruction or teaching tools. I guess I was expecting it to be more of a workbook that we could use with our anatomy instruction (homeschooling). In order for it to be useful in a teaching setting, it would need to be used in conjunction with a detailed anatomy book. It is probably more appropriate for middle/high school instruction than for our 5th grader.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for Starters, September 2, 2009

This book teaches the basic concepts quite clearly in simple language and clear illustrations (but not all anatomical-terms stated on the adjacent page are stated in the illustrations).
