This review is from: The Start To Finish Guide to Scripting with KiXtart (Digital)
Can you believe a book on the famous KiXtart scripting language is finally available?!!!! I've waited for something like this for years and its now finally available. But, its not like any first-run book. This book is complete. Even if you've used KiXtart for a long time, you'll learn something from this book. Its extremely easy to understand and covers everything!

A book to remember,

As a seasoned user of KiXtart, I was skeptical of purchasing a new book, but once I received the book and read through it, I was glad I did. All the entries and samples were clear, concise and very easy to read and implement. I'd recommend this book for both newcomers trying to learn the language, and oldtimers who think they know the language.

As a beginner IT Systems Administrator for a large company, I found myself having to update the company's login scripts to take advantage of new software, as well as stop installing old software that we didn't support any more. The scripts were all in KiX, which I didn't know a clue about, and unfortunately, although there's an entire horde of admins that swear by it - there isn't really any nice book format that helps to learn the language. At least, I didn't think there was - until I found this book. Although I'm still no where near being good at it, this book has saved me many times from doing something really dumb.
Don't know what INSTR (@ProductType) means? This book's got it. Trying to figure out whether to use RUN or SHELL?? This book gives you the pros and cons of both. Whatever you need, this book can either answer the question for you, or at least point you in the right direction. A plus - the book is written by the creator of KiXScript. Trust me - you use KiX, you will want this book.

Very helpful book. Details commands well. Could use more examples of the depth of commands but a true asset for anyone interested in scripting with KIX.
