The Start to Finish Guide to SMS Software Delivery is the perfect book for the new or experienced SMS Administrator. It acts as a handbook for delivering SMS distributions by demonstrating excellent practices in Software Distribution through planning and deployment - all the while keeping in mind quality and customer service. This book is an excellent guide to becoming a master of Software Distribution. David Baur, MCSE Microsoft Consultant, SMS Product Champion Extremely well laid out and easy to follow, Dana takes you through the guts of software distribution as though he's standing right beside you walking you through it. No fluff, direct to the point, step by step information. You wont waste any time reading filler content and you'll master software distribution and best practices right away. 1.0 out of 5 stars This book is for SMS 2.0, April 4, 2005

I'm very dissappointed this book this book is not clearly listed as an SMS 2.0 book. Had I known it was for version 2.0 I would not have purchased it. I needed a book to help me with SMS 2003 patch deployment and this book has nothing in it to help me. It has only 19 pages which talk about SMS 2003 in a chapter called "Things to Come".

Microsoft Systems Managment Server is a huge product. This book takes the software distribution mechanism and breaks it down into manageable chunks so that anyone can become a software distribution expert. With the need to distribute patches to keep the environment secure, this book is extremely timely. Learn how software delivery works, how to build packages, how to distribute packages successfully, and how to troubleshoot. This book can seriously take your distribution percentages through the roof.
