Everything covered including legal aspects and ascetics of working at home and customers on your own property to what you would expect (and more) of having a retail space. Lots of terrific information with several pages written by other sewing business owners about their experiences and how they found a niche in...

Fair--geared toward those who wish to own their own shop.
If you someday hope to have your own specialty or alterations-type commercial shop with industrial or commercial grade equipment, this book would be helpful to you; however, if you just want to bring in some extra money at home on your own home sewing machine, this is not really a book I would recommend. Information is somewhat vague and left my original questions...

This is a great book lots of sound advice - I first saw this book at the library.
I wanted my own copy so I could hi-lite and make notes. A must read before you actually start doing business. Points out things you probably did not think about. I am a skilled seamstress; but I'm not to good with all the paperwork necessary - but it's very important to learn what is needed. lot's of guidelines. |
