I bought this book sight unseen. I was dissappointed. The main premise of the book is that you can make good money selling service contracts. However, you can't sell service contracts unless you have a successful thriving appliance repair business. Since most how-to books try to start at the beginning this one seems to start at the end. It does not cover much critical information such as: your liability in case of any mishaps, how to get proper training and experience of a few years first, how to become a factory authorized service, trade journals, ect.. I also feel that the author fails to point out that the appliance repair field is getting highly complex using electronics and computers and that these appliances can be very dangerous to the untrained novice. While the author does admit he is neither a trained writer or a teacher this book will painfully bear this out. Additionally the book gets off the business track by trying to sell the authors newsletter, bulk service manuals, and collection service(all for the low price of $995.00) Finally, the second half of the book is a brief service manual section, which I did not bother to read yet although some may find it useful.
