4.0 out of 5 stars Faith No More for the 21st Centure, February 13, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Start Something (Audio CD)
Lostprophets is a synthesis of the music of a dozen or so (nu)metal bands of the past five years, but the music is very, very well done and soulful. I can hear traces of Incubus, POD, Hoobastank, and Linkin Park. But, what really caught my ear, "To Hell We Ride" could be a Faith More song off "Epic"... And true, just like FNM was the perfect synthesis of metal in its time, Lostprophets seems to be a similar melting pot for its time.

5.0 out of 5 stars going to be huge, February 6, 2004
This review is from: Start Something (Audio CD)
Well now the fake sound of progress used to be my favorite cd...sad to see it move to second place; however Start Something is worthy of the title. I was floord when I first put it in the cd player. the traks are more than enough to satisfy me i can't tell you how great this thing is. Fans of incubus and hoobastank will explode when they hear this. All the songs are amazing. though my favorites include We still kill the old way, make a move, I don't know, Start something.and finally sway. If songs like these dont smack mainstream listeners in the face then there is definatly a problem. Though it was no suprise to me i heard on my local radio station a showdown between the song Megalomaniac from Incubus and the song Last train home from Lostprophets.Though megalomaniac won Last train home was the better song. I urge people to check these guys out and see what they think.
Songs range from the fast paced Start something to the amazingly mello sway which i am addicted to. It is such a peacfull song. the cd flows frome one song to the next so subtly you'd think its all a one hour long song.
Thier lyrics are meaningfull and deep, Thier melodies are absorbing, and thier hooks are so catchy you might accidentaly break out with one at a funeral or church service if your not carefull. These guys are an extreemly talented group so be sure to Support thier music if you get the chance and we are sure to hear even more amazing music in the future

its doesnt have the balls or the frentic energy of their debut. seems like they slowed down a lil and used a little more leody, doesnt have the raw feel of emmotion either like FSOP.
