5.0 out of 5 stars Pet Business book
This book has been very helpful in my research of a business involving pets, pet supplies, pet treats, etc. Well written and organized.

This review is from: Start Your Own Pet Business and More (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Ups) (Paperback)
I've recently started my own pet business and have been networking with owners of other pet businesses too. In all honesty, I'd have to say that we pretty much agreed that this is the worst book on the subject. Much of the information was oversimplified or incorrect. Heck, even the ballpark figures on dog training, dog walking and pet grooming items were much lower than any price I've ever seen at the store or online.

If you're looking to become a dog trainer, I would highly recommend "So You Want To Become A Dog Trainer" by Nicole Wilde. It is much more extensive and accurate.

If you want to become a dog walker, there are many sources that I've found online that offer better information.

If you want to become a pet sitter, Pet Sitting for Profit is a good one to look into.

All in all, I can't and don't recommend this book to anybody. I wish I could say that I found even one piece of new, useful information in it, but I didn't. If you're considering getting into any pet business, then look into books and websites that are geared toward that specific sector (pet sitting, dog training, etc.) so you can get a full view and understanding of what these businesses entail and whether or not its a good fit for you.

This book is just too broad as the authors attempted to give a brief preview of the available pet business opportunities out there. In keeping it brief, they leave out the most important aspects of many of these fine businesses.
