From Library Journal
A seasoned B & B host, seminar instructor, and newsletter publisher, Mathews provides much valuable information that can be used to assess the feasibility of starting a home B & B. An excellent resource, her book covers business basics like zoning, insurance, security, publicity, and food service, as well as tips on use of the telephone, common areas, house rules, etc., etc. Common complaints are discussed along with possible solutions. Mathews lists addresses and phone numbers for reservations services, B & B organizations, real estate brokers who specialize in B & B's, sources of training and apprenticeships, and newsletter publications, and she includes helpful sample menus, phone logs, and expense records. Interesting even for those who just like to stay in B & Bs. Carolyn I. Alexander, Technical Inforomation Ctr., USACDEC, Fort Ord., Cal.
