1.0 out of 5 stars The worst thing on paper in this subject !!, January 18, 2009
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Start Your Own Photography Business: Studio, Freelance, Gallery, Events (Start Your Own Photography Business: Studio, Freelance, Events) (Paperback)
I cant believe people actually gave this garbage 5 stars. makes me wonder if its friends and family of the author.
This is an insult to the reader. unless you don't know that you have to get business cards and a phone for your business.
The author tells how to "build your dream team" in 12 lines !
here are a few segments from this retarded book; (by the way they are not edited or cut. these are the actual segments:
*Modem- This goes along with the computer because modems provide essential access to the internet. invest in the fastest cable modem or DSL that your budget will allow to accommodate the size and volume of images you will be transmitting.
*Shelving- Most business owners will tell you that having shelves installed on the walls of your office or studio is essential to keeping inventory and supplies organized and within easy reach. you can also purchase storage shelves on wheels or shelving unit that comes as one large piece of furniture.

If that is valuable information for someone who is ready to "Start your own photography business" than you are in real trouble.
I cant remember ever discussing with "most business owners" on shelving for my business.
I cant imagine someone about to start a business (especially photography) and not knowing they need a modem or internet access.

I actually read the whole book. it was the curiosity of looking at an accident.
I have never felt so insulted and frustrated when reading a book.
Save your money. don't touch this joke!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this book, September 17, 2009
This review is from: Start Your Own Photography Business: Studio, Freelance, Gallery, Events (Start Your Own Photography Business: Studio, Freelance, Events) (Paperback)
Unless you are very young, very dumb, or you have NEVER read a photography or buisness book - this is a waste or time and money. I gleened nothing from it. Thank god I got it from the library!

3.0 out of 5 stars A little too basic and general., February 19, 2009
By
Matt Osborne (York, Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Start Your Own Photography Business: Studio, Freelance, Gallery, Events (Start Your Own Photography Business: Studio, Freelance, Events) (Paperback)
I found this book to be a little too basic, by not going into enough detail. I prefer a more thought provoking approach.
