1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time October 1, 2009
Rich Mintzer is obviously a writer by profession and not a travel agency. The author has a very difficult time moving from cliche and generalities to specifics. This book is short any specific insight into creating a travel business. Long on platitudes and feel good statements. Mintzer seems at times to run out of content, so much so that at one point the author even devotes a section on anti-virus software! The only person making money off of these book sales is Entrepreneur Press.

5.0 out of 5 stars Basics of travel business explained April 20, 2011
I thought this was one of the better travel business books I've read - it was to the point, clear and dealt with matters of importance including utilizing your computer and the web, which is so important in this business. It also included info on tours, cruises, seniors and setting up your home office - which is important as this is your lifeline. Nice book for someone starting out.

2.0 out of 5 stars Informational at best August 30, 2012
By Dee Dee
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The resources were not well written. It seems it just repeatedly gave overview of the same content. It is a good read if you want to know what the business actual entails but for my purpose for the purchase, it was not a good start-up guide.

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, not great December 30, 2012

There are a lot of pretty obvious steps outlined in this book, with little detailed information on how to accomplish them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Generally June 7, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is a good general information book. It has confirmed a lot of what I already knew and added a little bit more. Still isn't the intense start up book I was looking for.

3.0 out of 5 stars The content is well organized May 23, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Quite useful for starting your own business, and provides good technical tips about home computer systems. Gives important information about foreign locations, medical emergencies, adventure travel, and getting rock bottom prices.
