If you are like me, you love to hear people describe how God's love lifted them up from despair and led them onto the paths of goodness. When people can do that by relating important spiritual experiences, I feel even more delighted. Add in some of the most beautiful and uplifting parts of the New Testament, and my heart soars. Starting Over God's Way provides all of those wonderful elements.

Whether or not your heart is troubled, you will enjoy reading this powerful Christian testimony. Consider sharing the book with someone whose heart is troubled. If you heart is troubled, Mr. Walker captures the important elements from the point of maximum anguish to capture the religious psychology that will lead to your recovery.

Mr. Walker found himself at rock bottom after going through his third divorce in just a few years. He had no job, few prospects and had withdrawn from people and ordinary life to a place of personal refuge. Suddenly filled with the Holy Spirit, he began to realize that he should submit to God's plans for him and realize that those plans are based in God's love for him. Soon, he was on the path to recovery and being called to preach God's love. This book is part of that calling.

To me, the most exciting parts of the book were the ones where Mr. Walker found himself heeding the Holy Spirit. I wish there had been more of them.

As many times as I have read the New Testament, I had never quite pulled together the idea that God loves me and has a purpose for me with the concept that that purpose was an expression of His love. After reading this powerful book, I will read and think about God's love differently from now on.

Please realize that this book was written in just a few short days. It has not had the kind of proofreading ("loose" is often used where "lose" is intended), editing (the testimony just rambles on in places and is unclear in others) and planning (the book seems to contradict itself in places) that you are probably accustomed to in your reading.

I imagined that I was actually sitting with Mr. Walker and he was sharing his story with me. I heard his voice rather than focusing on the printed word. That worked for me, and I hope it will work for you.

As I finished the book, I realized how much I depend on the "wee, small voice" in my head and heart that reminds me when I encounter obstacles that God is sending me a message to focus elsewhere.

Mr. Walker has been thru many trials in life, and this book encourages us to look at our circumstances and start living for Christ and not for ourselves. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are going thru a major life change such as a job loss or divorce. I have also read "God Help Me!" by Mr. Walker. No matter how much you have stumbled in the past or even turned your back on God, He is still right behind you ready to receive you.

"Starting Over God's Way" by Clarence W. Walker really spoke to my heart, my spirit and my soul. God had healed my broken heart after a painful divorce and His love has sustained me. But something was still missing; something was not quite right. As a Christian I know God's love for me and I know my healing came from Him; but my soul was hungry for more.
Many of us can find points in our lives where we were required to start over, whether it's in our career, our marriage, a divorce, or a death of a loved one. It was time for me to start over. The words in Walker's book are more than words; they are nourishment for the heart and soul straight from God. He explains in plain English exactly what God's word, the Bible, is all about...LOVE...the love that God has for us, His children, in and through Jesus Christ. It's one thing knowing about God's love for us and accepting His love through His Son Jesus Christ; here you learn how to have that perfect communion with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. You will learn how to build a new life with His love guiding you every step of the way. You can become the person, the real person, God intended you to be.
Once you start reading this book you can not put it down! It is so easy to read and understand. Be sure you read his second book "Moving Forward God's Way". You can't read one without the other. They go hand-in-hand.
