Product Description

Flavor: Lemon Ginger

Founded in 1972, Stash Tea Company originally operated out of an old Portland Victorian style house, supplying loose herbal teas and bulk herbs to natural food stores. Starting in 1975, the company broadened its focus to include bagged teas and then began to sell a full line of traditional, specialty blend and herbal teas directly to fine restaurants and through a mail order catalog to consumers. Today, Stash Tea Company is one of the largest specialty tea companies in the United States. The company derives its name from an entertaining aspect of tea folklore. In earlier centuries, tea was a valuable commodity traditionally transported by clipper ship. The ship’s captain often was presented with some of the finest teas for his personal use. This supply was his “stash,” stowed carefully as his “private reserve.” Today, the term is still used to denote anything put away carefully because of its preciousness.

Flavor Name: Wild Raspberry Hibiscus Verified Purchase
No caffeine and tasted wonderful. Glad I got the 12 pack of this. I take 2 cups of water to a boil and remove from heat. Drop in 5 tea bags and steep for 5 minutes (don't let it go much beyond 5 minutes, or it can get bitter). I drop that in a 2 QT pitcher and fill up the rest with filtered tap water and let sit in the fridge for a couple hours before drinking.

I am sure there are better ways of brewing iced tea out of this, but it was the first thing I tried and it worked out quite well for me and continued to do it. I will definitely purchase this over and over again. Much healthier and better than drinking sugary soft drinks with empty calories and yes, even fruit juices (even the natural kinds without artificial chemicals and corn syrup, etc) as those are just high quantities of sugar regardless.

Flavor Name: Meyer Lemon
I've begun handing these out as host gifts, to rave reviews. The scent alone is intoxicating enough to justify a well-stocked 'stash'... It took years to track down a lemon tea with such a distinctly fresh lemon flavor, not overwhelmed by sweeteners or honey but delicately complimented with rosehip and citrus notes. A real treasure (and outrageously popular present)!

Flavor Name: Acai Berry
This review is for the Acai Berry herbal tea (since the product page contains listings for multiple flavors).

I love fruity teas. And I love the color red. This tea combines both of those qualities. I have primarily been drinking it hot but it is delicious as an iced herbal tea, too.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know what plain old acai berries taste like, so I don't know how true the flavor is to those. This is more of a blend, with hibiscus, rosehips, lemongrass, orange peel, chicory root, blackberry flavor, blackcurrant flavor, acai flavor, acai fruit powder, and licorice powder. The packets also contain a notice that this product contains soy (I think lecithin from a soy source is used as an emulsifier), so please take that into consideration if you have allergies. Personally, I think all the flavors go well together, and I recognize that most of the color likely comes from the hibiscus. (If you are a fan of the Zinger teas from Celestial Seasonings, this has a lot in common with those.)

I drink this without sweetener; it has a hint of sweetness but it's also kind of tart. I think you could sweeten it a little if you wanted.

Also, I had bought quite a lot of this in individual foil packets several years ago. I am still working my way through that supply. So I can tell you that it stays good for several years after purchase (don't be afraid to buy a lot).

When I run out of this (eventually), I will definitely be buying more.

Flavor Name: Licorice Spice
Of all the companies producing herbal teas, in my opinion Stash is the best. This is as true of their Licorice Spice tea as it is of their other varieties. The genuine licorice flavor predominates, but it is also accompanied by other spice flavors to produce an excellent blended taste. All ingredients are natural and include licorice root, cinnamon, orange peel, star anise, sarsaparilla, and natural flavors of vanilla, orange, clove, cardamom, and cinnamon.

This licorice tea is especially soothing to the throat, in large measure because of the properties of the licorice root. This natural herb is well-known for its soothing effect on the throat and esophagus and has been used for years as an ingredient in cough syrups and cough drops. Good at all times, licorice tea is especially beneficial when you have a sore throat.

Flavor Name: Licorice Spice Verified Purchase
This is my favorite tea. Period.

It has the best flavor. It’s not too strong, the flavor is light and delicate, it has a more dynamic taste from sip to finish, and I find it to be very satisfying. The flavor is of actual licorice root, not anise. So it’s not strong or over-powering in any way. And it needs no sweetener at all, I can’t imagine doing such a thing to this tea (even though I often like adding honey to my teas, this just isn’t the sort of tea you would do that to).

Everyone I have shared this tea with has loved it, and often gone out and bought some for themselves soon afterwards. Even people who like black licorice (connoisseurs of expensive black licorices) like it, even though I thought they wouldn’t because this tea tastes nothing like that and has a much lighter flavor. I would not relate the flavor of this tea to black licorice (the kind we are all used to seeing in the candy isle) at all.

I would recommend this tea to anyone who likes tea or is interested in trying teas. If you don’t like it yourself, it won’t be hard to find someone who will happily take the rest of them off your hands.

Flavor Name: Cranberry Pomegranate Verified Purchase
The Cranberry Pomegranate herbal tea from Stash is one of my favorites, but this flavor is not always readily available where I live. I was happy to find this bulk supply here on Amazon. Instead of being packed in the standard 18-count boxes that are sold in stores, this item is packaged as a dozen individually wrapped packs of 10 tea bags in a specific flavor. Each tea bag is sealed in its own flavor-saving pouch, just like the retail packaging, but this bulk version takes up much less space in your cabinet, while still keeping each tea bag fresh until use. Buying in bulk like this is a great way to stock up on a favorite flavor while saving a little bit of money. The tea itself is full flavored; a perfect selection for those who enjoy fruit-flavored herbal (and caffeine free) teas.
