Editorial Reviews

The Unseen play punk rock, mix in hardcore, scream their asses off, and write great hooks. Their music and lyrics are filled with pent up fear, confusion, lust, guilt, dread, hate, and resentment, but they're neither a political band nor a street punk band, because those terms are too one-dimensional. Their songs deal with every thoughtful aspect in life. Produced by the Dropkick Murphy's Ken Casey and mixed by Jim Siegel and Bad Religion's Brett Gurewitz. Look for them on this summer's Warped Tour.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome album by one of the best street punk acts out there., July 24, 2005
This review is from: State of Discontent (Dig) (Audio CD)
The unseen are truly amazing on this album, writing political lyrics and intresting and some of the best punk anthems they've come up with yet. These guys truly amaze me.
On the other side-5/5-great intro song. Sounds alot like scream out because it links into it.
Scream Out-5/5- This is one of the greatest punk anthems ive heard in awhile. On the other side flows right into it which sounds really cool. Check out the video.
The end is near-4/5-this one is short and sweet with an intro where mark shouts something about the brains behind the muscle getting what they deserve. I also like the "the end is near" at the end.
Weapons of mass deception-4.75/5-this one has grown alot on me. It has great lyrics and is a great anthem.
You can never go home-4.5/5-this one is a little lighter kinda sounds like older unseen stuff. This one rocks.
Dead weight falls-5/5-this one is simply awsome, it is truely incredible.
Force fed-5/5-awsome anthem, my third favorite on the album.
Social damage-4/5-Not to mind blowing after force-fed but still great.
Waste of time-5/5-this one is mind blowing, and definatly my favorite on the album. I could rave about it for hours but ill spare you and tell you its great.
Hit and run-4.5/5-like social damage it suffers from coming after an amazing song, but great guitar and good lyrics make it very worthy.
We are all that we have-4.75/5-Marks voice rocks on this one and Lars Fredricksen from Rancid sing which is really awsome.
flames have destroyed-4/5- not the best, too short, but still a very good song. Great screaming
Final Execution(Armageddon)-5/5- Simply awsome. Really catchy, and good lyrics.
Paint it black-5/5-Rolling stones cover, and i'll tell you its amazing, the song really works with the unseen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not A Bad Song, May 20, 2005
This review is from: State of Discontent (Dig) (Audio CD)
I know this isn't the same old Unseen that we all knew and loved, but you have to admit it's pretty damn good. You could tell that they started to transform when you heard "Explode." (Or at least, that's when it became amazingly apparent) And since then they've been allowing their "Hardcore" influences shine through the music. If you are amazingly critical and think that every band's new album sucks, then this definately isn't the album for you. Sure it's got some politics, but they don't show up as well as...say, NOFX's...

Oh, and the Paint It, Black cover is AMAZING!

4.0 out of 5 stars Street punk lives, November 14, 2009

A great album from the modern street punk kings . It's cleaner than the old stuff and isn't that a good thing in many ways. This is no nonsense punk rock . If like bands like the casualties and a global threat you'll be into this .
