I am shocked that this series is not available yet on U.S. DVD. An intelligent script, fine acting all round. One of the best serializations on the BBC for some time.

This is an excellent production by the BBC. The only downside is sometimes it is hard to understand their "English". (Apologies to the Btits!) Just when you think you have it figured out, and this is a mini-series that keeps you engaged so you want to figure out who-done-it, the plot takes a sharp turn with the addition of new evidence or a new character.
The acting is excellent, the setting is realistic and the action is fast moving. Would like to see other mini-series by this writer.

"State of Play" will be released on DVD in the U.S. in February of 2008. It's being released in conjunction with the American re-make of the movie, also to be released in 2008. Too bad there has to be an American version of this fantastic mini-series, but hey, if it means we get the original on DVD, I'm all for it!
