An underrated album by Uncle Ted!, August 25, 2001
If you're a Nuge fan, this album is a must-have. The song "Alone" is not something you'd expect from Ted Nugent, yet it's probably in my top five favorite Nuge songs of all time. The guitar solo in "Alone" is worth the price of the whole album. Another one of my favorites on the album is "Bite Down Hard." It's a guitar-riff driven number that I play over and over. Ted Nugent is the master at straight-ahead, guitar-driven rock and roll.

Terrible Ted Does It Again, January 28, 2005
With STATE OF SHOCK, Ted Nugent creates another masterpiece. The opener, "Paralyzed", is a great wah-wah heavy rocker, and many other hot ones are also here, including "It Doesn't Matter." People who think Ted Nugent was washed up by this point do not, in my view, have full constitutional rights, because this CD burns just as hot as each of the first four and shows that Charlie Huhn was an exceptional stand-in for Derek St. Holmes.

Personally, my favorite NUGENT album, June 29, 2009
This review is from: State Of Shock (Audio CD)
For me, I really like this album, I think everything came together well for Ted, especially Charlie Hunh, who sings alot of songs, on rockers It Don't Matter, Bite Down Hard and Saddle Sore, and the ballad Alone. Also Ted let's er rip on Paralyzed and State of Shock. A late-70's gem from Nugent, pick it up if you can.
