5.0 out of 5 stars Makes Al Gore look like a blithering idiot, April 9, 2007
This review is from: States of Fear: Science or Politics? (DVD)
No matter what the previous reviewer said, this DVD provides a sane discussion of an issue thats become a religious crusade when it should be a reasoned debate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Voices of Reason, February 7, 2008
This review is from: States of Fear: Science or Politics? (DVD)
This DVD contains the viewpoints of several men and women of high scientific stature. No Chicken Littles included. They present their facts and their opinions formed from those facts both rationally and with occasional humor. The presentation is both entertaining and informative. These people are as concerned about the planet as are others, but they do not go off half-cocked wanting to use dictatorial powers to enforce programs based upon faulty research or unreasonable interpretations of the research of others. Once you view this DVD, you will want to lend it to friends. It cuts the fear and panic from the debate.

This is the best book I have ever read and I read a lot.

If you a a true believer in Global Warming (as I was) you need to read this book. It is eye opening and will change your mind.

Chrichton does an excellent job of telling the truth about the global warming scare and he backs it up with real science rather than junk-science.

It also reveals the truth that large, entrenched environmental groups are vulnerable to becoming purveyors of half-truths and outright misinformation to further their cause. Since I have worked with these groups for many years I found Chrichton's analysis to be highly accurate.

All of the revelations in this book are backed up by hard facts and good science and Chrichton doesn't indulge in "cheap shots" or personal opinion.

Written as a exciting novel, it is highly readable but sticks to solid facts regarding global warming.

If you truly care about our planet, you need to read this book!

every thinking person should view this dvd . crichton makes it crystal clear that there is a big difference between science and emotional " concern for the environment " . crichton's recent death is tragedy since his message needs to be heard ....perhaps this dvd will be the medium for making this happen ...

5.0 out of 5 stars state of fear, September 1, 2009
This review is from: States of Fear: Science or Politics? (DVD)
I am reading the book State of fear, I think there was a movie made from it and I can't remember. I do know this the gobal warming is the biggest con ever pulled, Gore is getting rich taking his jet all over the world telling people the sky is falling and the fools believe it. The ice caps melting and the oceans rising yell sure when they have proof that in the last one hundred years it has went down a foot. You put ice in a glass fill it with water let it set and the level of water will fall. If the ice caps melt the level of the oceans will fall. The oil spills on the beach, you don't have to spend all that money cleaning it up within a year the ocean will do it for us. Thank of all them ships that went down in ww2 where is the oil? So the next time some one says the sky is falling you don't have to put your hands on your head. Mt Saint Halen we were told that it will be years before it would be green again the very next year you never knew it happen by looking at it. Man can't do anything to this earth to hurt it, only to them self. The earth will be here long after we are dead and gone and you will never know we ever were here.

Don't get me started on the rain forest or offshore drillimg. Who out there miss the dodo dodo bird? People who build their house on a cliff need to have it to fall down. You build on the beach sooner or later the wind and occean will take it down. You cut down a tree a new one will grow. I have been here sixty five years and nothing has change, the sun comes up and sets, my yard that had no trees is now over run with them it cost me thousands to thin them out and I never planted a dawn one.
