5.0 out of 5 stars An All-Around Winner, October 28, 2005
This review is from: Static Trampoline (Audio CD)
Static Trampoline is a winner. Chris Pierce's vocals range from beautiful high notes to deep, soulful sounds. The songs are sometimes mellow, sometimes they rock, and are definitely upbeat. This CD deserves to become a classic

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! Chris is deep..., September 27, 2005

I saw Chris Pierce open up for Seal in Atlanta, GA! He rocked the house before it got dark. He played about 7 songs (all great) finishing with Static Trampoline that left me and the entire amphitheater speechless. His groovy sound and deep lyrics flow smoothly. Buy this CD...your cd player won't want to eject it.

5.0 out of 5 stars You Must Get This, September 25, 2005

This review is from: Static Trampoline (Audio CD)
I saw Chris open for Seal this summer. I'd never heard him before and instantly became a fan. He has an absolute fabulous ability to match words to the music in a way to reach his listener. From the thought provoking such as "Are You Beautiful" and the title track (written just after his father's death) to the hilarious "She's Trying to Kill Me" (which is even better live when he throws in a "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" riff - hysterical). One of my favorites is "Love is Within Reach". How can you pass up a song that asks the question: "Who's gonna put a bandaid on your mouth when you're at a loss for words".

Every track is a gem by itself with no "duds" in the entire album. I certainly hope this is the first of many recordings Chris makes. I'm looking forward to the next album.

Buy it and become an instant fan. I can't recommend this strongly enough.

From the smooth "Are You Beautiful" to the catchy funk of "Withchy Yeah Yeah", Chris demonstrates a wide range of influences, but most of all, exceptional talent. I eagerly anticipate more songs. Keep on Chris!

5.0 out of 5 stars Soon to be one of the classics, September 19, 2005
This review is from: Static Trampoline (Audio CD)
I've been watching CP (Chris Pierce) perform over the last few years in various L.A. venues. Each show sounds just as good as a CD but has much more energy. This artist has an amazing love and understanding of music that only those who are great can have.

This long awaited album has finally come out and it most definitely surpassed my expectations. Every track is good. My favorites are: Bye Bye Butterfly (#1), Are You Beautiful (#2), When I'm With You (#4) and The Slow Life (#11). Honestly some of the best music I've heard in years.

Pick up this album and prepare to be amazed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great singer, December 30, 2008

Just saw Chris Pierce open for BB King at House of Blues Anaheim. Wow. Imagine opening for a legend that everyone came to see - it can be dicey. But Chris, who I had never seen or heard of before, grabbed the audience in the first 30 seconds with a soul shout that matched anything I have ever heard. His set was varied in tempo and style and his band was amazing. A soulful singer, inventive songwriter and dynamite performer with a lot of heart. He played many of the cuts from this CD. Highly recommend this artist!
