From the Publisher
Stations of the Air provides 33 poems left among the papers of John Ciardi. They offer us a last breath of genius from one of the great literary men of our time. They demonstrate the wit, skill, profundity, intensity and multiplicity of a great poet and supreme translator-a man for whom art was devotion without pretension, who believed in the life-sized but who expected poets and readers to stretch their intellects and emotions. John Ciardi's work continues to enrich the lives of alert readers who care about depth of engagement and subtlety of interpretation. The book is a special hardcover edition with beautiful full color cover art.
About the Author
John Ciardi was the author of more than 35 books in his lifetime, including a lauded translation of the complete Divine Comedy by Dante into English.
