5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent prayer book and devotional aid for adults
I ordered STATIONS OF THE CROSS by Father Lovasik four times and got shrink packs of 10 booklets labeled with bright stickers saying, "Do Not Break Open" and "SOLD AS 1 ITEM DO NOT OPEN". Please, do not let a packing error distract from this truly great PRAYER BOOK and DEVOTIONAL AID. While Father Lovasik's STATIONS OF THE CROSS appears to have been written for...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not marketed correctly
The title of the product says The Stations of the Cross (10-pack of pamphlets) however, only one book came for each quantity ordered. I ordered 8 10packs and only received 8 books. So I returned them and ordered from another website.

While Father Lovasik's STATIONS OF THE CROSS appears to have been written for elemetary aged children it is truly an excellent devotional manual for adults to use for making personal Stations of the Cross. Depending on the physical size of the church itself this prayer book of the Stations of the Cross can be used in 10 or 15 minutes to devoutly walk the Stations of the Cross and under the usual conditions gain a plenary indulgence for the poor souls. I try to use it daily and will give copies free to any one who will promise to use it regularly. Most of the many fine books for making the Stations of the Cross have long and involved prayers. The simplicity and straight forwardness of Father Lavasik's STATIONS OF THE CROSS lends itself perfectly to regular devotional use without the distractions that seem to come with the reading of long devotional prayers. Too many authors of prayers tend to forget the model of the perfect prayer, the "Our Father" has only fifty-six words. Father Lovasik's prayers both before and after the stations each are only seventy words in length. The prayers for each station are not much longer. The full page color illustration adjacent to the prayer for each station aid with the meditation necessary to fully feel the emotions connected with the stations as they are being walked within the church. The large, bold print is helpful for tired old eyes like mine. I feel that there are many souls in heaven thankful for the aid that this great prayer book and devotional aid gave some devoted individual who took the few minutes to devoutly walk the Stations of the Cross and say the additional prayers necessary to gain a plenary indulgence for a poor soul.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anything from Fr. Lovasik is worth buying..., February 3, 2004

Content from Fr. Lovasik is always dependable...traditional Catholicism, but not traditionalist. The illustrations are well done. I have used this book with my own kids (now grown) and with CCD classes for years and have always been satisfied.

3.0 out of 5 stars Satisfactory for some children, August 26, 2000

This review is from: The Stations of the Cross (10 pack) (Paperback)
This Stations of the Cross is intended for children. It uses the traditional stations and in the introduction describes briefly the indulgence related to the devotion. Each station consists of a single piece - a meditation/prayer in the first person in words appropriate to children. The glossy pictures accompanying each station are typical children religious art.
