2.0 out of 5 stars Below par, January 7, 2011
This books was unsatisfactory. The 7th edition brags about having trimmed bits and pieces from what must have already been the slimmest math book I've seen. I presume that this was done by the surviving author since the other one died in 2003. The result is that the book appears to have been (repeatedly) condensed at the expense of clarity. The authors try to simplify and simplify and in the end simplify it in their head and in the process fail to connect with people with the mindset that expects statistics to be related to mathematics. It is not a collegeworthy textbook as far as I'm concerned, and was used in a course that was so dumbed down that I did not once use a calculator or even basic algebra.

The only thing that really impressed me about this book was the size to price ratio, which was pretty awful even for a college textbook.

3.0 out of 5 stars Watered-Down Stats, October 3, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Statistical Reasoning in the Behavioral Sciences (Hardcover)
Not bad. presents some topics circuitously, seemingly trying to water it down for behavioral sciences. It does the job, but would not be my first recommendation.

When I received this textbook in the mail I was extremely surprised by how good of condition it was in. It looked brand new and the price was very fair.
