The textbook is self I felt explained the topics clearly and used language that made it easy to follow. Most of the examples where good and explained the topics well. This edition includes the MyStatlab which my class required, and also why this book costs so much more than it should. The MyStatlab does provide may practice problems that you can work out, additionally my professor created the homework problems through MyStatlab. The issue I have with MyStatlab is that you must input your answer exactly as it wants it. Generally it will say round to 2 or 3 decimal places but you need to make sure to hold on to many more than that through the many steps of problems. Other problems do not specify the number of decimal places and you have to hope that you are correct. The other helpful portion of the book I enjoyed was the explanation of how to do different topics in various statistics programs. If you ever actually have to work with statistics you will most likely be using one of the programs included and it is nice to have that included.

One thing that should be noted however is do not bother trying to trade in this book under the same ISBN number you purchase here. Since this is a package product the book shows the ISBN of the book alone, so when you trade in the book under the ISBN you purchased it as you get rejected as the incorrect book. Amazon really should not allow you to try to trade in the book as the package and direct you instead to the book on its own. And if you complain that you traded in the correct book they only direct you back to your trade in account and the merchant said it is the incorrect book, even though it isn't.

Not a bad book, but you will find numerous instances of examples (formulas) given that don't explain every step, leading to more confusion - especially if this is your first statistics course.

MyStatLab, just like MyMathLab is equally guilty of not giving you adequate step-by-step explanations. It will give the option of "Show me an example" or "Help me solve this problem" and as you're going through the steps you are either left to come up with the solution on your own or the program gives you the answer without explaining where it came from.

If the curriculum didn't require it, I would never have purchased this book. There has got to be a better book out there that teaches you the basics.

I used this textbook in a Business Statistics class, very complete. Examples are great, but make sure you have access to statistics number crunching software like MiniTab.

I would recommend this book for business stats students. It is not the latest edition, but it has all of the information you need. The only downfall is that the latest edition is in a different order than this one, some chapters have more/less info, with the info being moved to another chapter. In other words, this edition and the latest one have all of the same information, just in different places. If you are willing to put up with the hassle, buy this book. I was definitely willing to put up with it for the price.
For class purposes this book works great. As just a book review in general, it was ok. If you are trying to learn business stats on your own I probably would not recommend this book as much. Some of the explanations are not very clear, and a lot of the examples were not very good (in my opinion). It could have been a lot more straightforward than it was in this book.

Amazon really delivers when it goes to ordering online textbooks for class. I needed this book for Statistics and had the two day delivery and my order arrived just in time, in perfect condition plus I received MyMathLab with this book unlike the college bookstore who only sells the textbook seperately from MyMathLab even if the book was new overall I saved over $60 compared from the college bookstore. The textbook is very informative and gives out great examples, I'm glad my Stats instructor chose this textbook.

Statistics, regardless of what book, will be a very hard read for anyone who dislikes math. This book was required by my Quantitative Analysis course. The reason why I dislike it is that it doesn't have a set chapter (where you read the information in one lump) and then questions to answer at the end of the chapter. It has sections of chapters (Ex: 2.1-2.9) and each section has about 2-3 pages of questions. Chapter 2 is about 40-45 pages total with no organization so it makes reading very hard.

The book was had issues with the pages. Half of the book pages were upside down. The cover and back was upside down too. So I had to turn the book upside down depending on the chapter I needed to study.

This book helped me to figure out how to work the complicated Statistic problems. The breakdown of how and why really makes it easier for the reader to apply the material to everyday business.
