This is a good bridge between a basic intro stats book and a more difficult mathematical stats book (e.g. Rice's Mathematical Statistics). It gives some (but not all) of the proofs to key results, without skipping over a lot of steps like some higher level texts. In addition, the writing is more explanatory and seeks to convey the intuition better than some other books. I recommend this textbook.

This book was the assigned text for a graduate level statistics course I took. It is well written with examples for every technique discussed and lots of exercises at the end of each chapter. I highly recommend it.

The most boring-looking stats book you can imagine, but also the most useful I've used. The right balance of theory and practicality for a doctoral student in a non-stats field, who nevertheless needs to understand the topic. The bland and dense layout belies a remarkably accessible text. Don't be intimidated!

Best book about statistics. Includes every mathematical demonstration from every procedure described in the book. Great for the academic world.

The binding is so bad that you will want to STOP reading the book and tear apart the book. Oh wait, you don't need to do that! it already fell apart!

Pity that the publishers were so short-sighted, cuz the content itself is quite good.

Get a hardcover if you can! Don't get the paperback version!

I'm using this textbook for a grad school statistics class, and the content is very good with lots of worked examples. Starts covering the basics and eventually works towards more advanced problems.

The binding on this book is the worst i've ever seen. Literally the first time I (gently) opened the book, a page ripped out. I would like to keep this book as a reference book, but I doubt it will last much longer than this class.

The contents of the book is good but the quality of the book is very bad. Even though the book is new, the pages in it started to fall off from the book when I was using it for a few times. I don't recommend anyone to go for this print version.

The book binding quality of this book version is very bad. I have used it a few times and the binding broke, pages came loose. I have lost interest using the book although its content is well done. The poor quality comes close to cheap book reprints that you can buy in India.
