As an older returning grad student, both statistics and the books that explained statistics were all like reading Greek. This book made statistics manageable for me to be able to critically read studies to determine their validity in practice.

hate stats, love the book. What can you say about a math textbook??? I hate math almost as much as I hate stats (they are NOT the same) but I ended up with an A in the class...

I intend to buy the new edition but I hope they correct the typo on page 208 in the current edition. Amusing that this is a page available for the "Look Inside." Error is in Fig 17.1 -- can you spot it?
