He has worked in industry as well as in schools, colleges and universities in the UK and abroad. For some years, he has been Professor of Education Development at the Open University, where he takes particular interest in vocational education.

The idea is excellent, explaining statistics by focusing on concepts rather than calculations. Unfortunately, it is no easy read. A drawing showing how the phenomenon, the population, the sample and the model are related would have made a wonderful book even better. Otherwise excellent in all aspects.

This book really helps with basic statistics, but it's not going to take all you troubles away. Having said that, I am less scared of quantitative projects and SPSS as a result of reading it, but still sobbing in my Kleenex every time I have to do it....so there.
