Excellent,

The idea is excellent, explaining statistics by focusing on concepts rather than calculations. Unfortunately, it is no easy read. A drawing showing how the phenomenon, the population, the sample and the model are related would have made a wonderful book even better. Otherwise excellent in all aspects.

This book really helps with basic statistics, but it's not going to take all you troubles away. Having said that, I am less scared of quantitative projects and SPSS as a result of reading it, but still sobbing in my Kleenex every time I have to do it....so there.
