Staub Wok,

This review is from: Staub Wok with Glass Lid and Tempura Rack, 6 Quart, Royal Blue (Kitchen)
An exceptional culinary resource! We've used it for traditional wok cooking, steaming, and soup making. The non-stick and heat transfer properties exceeded our expectations. The glass lids are hard to find in other products, but very helpful in many ways.

Staub Wok,

The Staub wok is ready to use immediately.
Staub enameled cast iron products are highly durable. They do not discolor or rust, they resist chipping, and do not require seasoning. The interior, as well as the exterior surfaces are enameled iron. The durable black ---matte--- enamel interior, as with all Staub cast iron, doesn't need seasoning. The more you use your Staub product, the better it gets! Oils used when cooking will penetrate the pores of the ---matte enamel--- and create a natural, smooth, nonstick surface, just like a finely seasoned non-enameled iron pan. The smooth enameled exterior is easier to clean. Staub made a wonderfully functional design decision to coat the interior with a matte surface, while coating the exterior of the pan with the traditional smooth surface.

Large and Heavy Duty!,

This certainly is heavy duty - emphasis on heavy! Of course, I knew that getting into it. It is quite large too. I was silly and didn't quite picture how big 6-quarts is. It's a lot, and the size of this thing shows. But it has been great for those big one-pan meals. The quality of the enamel is great (I got it in blue), and the lid makes a nice tight seal and has a slight hole for steam venting. I have not used the shelf that comes with it. The heavy weight does make it a bit of a chore to wash and dry, but other than that I would definitely recommend it for anyone that likes to make large one-pan meals.
