Make no mistake - this IS a small bowl. But a great one. You can expect the same great Staub quality. I own several Lodge bare cast iron serving pieces and wanted the convenience of enamel-coated CI for liquid-based and other types of food that doesn't require oil use. I made a packet of oatmeal in milk in this mini pot and it was fantastic! The oatmeal was warm until the last spoonful. I will never be going back to zapping my oatmeal in the microwave. Yes, it does take longer to cook and I have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't boil over but food tastes so much better. With canned soup, I can heat up and serve in the same bowl. When I make my own soup or chili in a big pot, I use it as a serving bowl after heating it. This pot fits 12 liquid ounces to the brim so I fill 9 or 10 ounces of liquid (just over one cup) in it for cooking.

I'm going to try to find a small lid for this pot to boil one or two eggs in it just like the previous reviewer had mentioned. My son is the only one in the family who likes his eggs boiled so I'm always boiling 2 eggs in a 1-quart pan.

The grey color is very elegant and chic. I was afraid that it might be drab but that is not at all the case. And I like the color differentiation from my black Lodge CI pices.

I would have given it 5 stars if the size was slightly bigger. I would love a similar pot that is half or three-quarters of a quart. Still, this mini pot was worth the money for me because I eat in small portions and eat very slowly (but like my food warm until the end).
