Elegant small teapot
I am very pleased with this little teapot which I am using everyday. I have not had it very long so cannot rate longevity. It can be heated empty on top of the stove while boiling water in a tea kettle. It will make about l pint of tea or two cups. Inside it is enameled and so is the bottom so it is easy to wipe clean. Odd Teapot
The Staub La Theiere is an odd teapot. First - it is smaller than I thought. I can get a cup and half hot water for coffee. And in the process the handles get very hot, so I wrap my hand in a towel. Which is good - that prevents steam from hitting your hand as you pour using those awkward handles. The pour can be messy because the water will come out of the lid edge...

The Staub La Theiere is an odd teapot. First - it is smaller than I thought. I can get a cup and half hot water for coffee. And in the process the handles get very hot, so I wrap my hand in a towel. Which is good - that prevents steam from hitting your hand as you pour using those awkward handles. The pour can be messy because the water will come out of the lid edge if you pour too fast. If you overfill the pot it will spit boiling water out of the horizontal spout. These problems can be handled, but getting hot water used to be very simple in our house.

It can be heated empty on top of the stove while boiling water in a tea kettle. It will make about l pint of tea or two cups. Inside it is enameled and so is the bottom so it is easy to wipe clean. It is small, only about 5"x5"x3.5"(h). The cast iron is not as heavy as in a larger pot but it has some heft. I recommend it to anyone who wants something a bit out of the ordinary.
