Fast service too!

Nice that the drying agent is contained so that all's necessary is to take the packet out and toss it in the microwave for the necessary amount of time.

As a mechanic and outdoor enthusiast in the humid summers of South Carolina, I absolutely love and approve of this product. I've been wearing hearing aids since I was 5 years old. I am 29 and the most common problems my parents and I have had is my hearing aids shorting out due to my activeness. My audiologist first gave us a similar product that worked well but it wasn't portable. It was in a glass jar and the beads had to be taken out and placed in a microwave safe container. I'm sort of clutzy and have lost the beads and broke my first jar in gym class in middle school years ago. Then my parents bought an expensive electrical unit which also worked well but it's not very portable and the unit could not be bumped or you would have to reset the unit and the "tabs" were $5 each at the time. They would only last a week at most.

Finally after breaking my second glass jar either from the handlers from a plane or cruise terminal I knew I had to buy something more portable and unbreakable. I came across this one after extensive research online and amazon reviews. I LOVE it! It's inexpensive, portable, not easily broken, and easy to recharge. It comes in a plastic container and I kept one in my tool box at the shop and took it home with me on the weekends. Haven't broken it yet. I also enjoy the room it has. I can easily fit both BTE units without removing the ear mold/tube from my hearing aids. I also like how the "beads" can be recharged inside it's own container without having to worry about dropping it or losing beads all over the kitchen when recharging them. I HIGHLY recommend this for the price, portability, and ease of use. I wanted to wait at least a year before making a review and here it is.

Product arrived in perfect conditon. I really like the fact the product that dehumidifies is in it's own packet so you don't have to dump the product onto a baking sheet when it is time to recharge it. Also it is much cheaper then Hal-Hen product. The jar is plastic not glass so no worry about it breaking if dropped. The dehumidifying product is in it's own container so no worry about it spilling all over if you drop the jar. The plastic jar seems to close tighter which means it is able to suck out more humidity. You have to turn the jar lid several times to open or close which means a more air tight seal. Hal-Hen you could never tell if it was air tight seal because it only took a turn to open and close it.

Update 3/30/14

I am changing my rate from 5 to 1 star. I put the dehumidifier cartridge in the microwave and followed the instructions exactly. When I took it out I found several points of start of melting appeared on the bottom and some of the beads were ready to fall out. I also discovered several holes on the top. Obviously the cartridge had a melt down or was on the verge on one. I have since ordered another brand dehumidifier that is only $5.95 through Amazon. Unfortunately because of health reasons the product is non refundable or exchangeable. I am just glad I am only out $11.97. This product used to be great but now it has become worthless. I guess they have cheapened the way the manufacturer the product now.

I've had these type of hearing aid dehumidifiers for many years. They last a long time. You put the internal "bag" which contains colored drying beads in the microwave to regenerate them. In the past, I would zap them maybe once a month. This one has a note on the inside of the lid, to microwave it once a week. The beads change color when it needs to be zapped and these really do only last a week before changing color. Not too much of an issue really, just a bit of a change to get used to.

Superior Hearing Aid Dryer. This (Siemens) device is better than the small ones often given to users. I am often in damp environments yet get 20 years out of my hearing aids. I attribute this to religious overnight use of the drying container.

My husband really likes this hearing aid dehumidifer. He wears two behind the ear aids and they fit in the container easily. He has arthritis and likes the fact that the cover is easy to open and close. I do the maintenance of drying the beads in the microwave. Unfortunately, today I hurriedly put the desiccant in the microwave with the screen side down causing the screen to break and the desiccant to spill out. The microwave was easy to clean, beads are just like crumbs, but I now have to order a new dehumidifer. The correct directions are clearly printed on the side of the container, but the manufacturer also nicely placed a large print sticker reminder inside the cover stating: Microwave beads 30 seconds weekly. I highly recommend they change the sticker to read: Place beads in microwave SCREEN SIDE UP for 30 seconds weekly.

Well folks this is a hugh piece of equipment. I was looking for something small enough to hold my BTE . What showed up was actually large enough to hold my ears! Nice that the drying agent is contained so that all's necessary is to take the packet out and toss it in the microwave for the necessary amount of time.

For sure, it will never get lost.
