5.0 out of 5 stars Great single, even better bonus track, August 9, 2000
This review is from: Stay Forever (Audio CD)
Some may say that Stay Forever is a little too soft for ween music, lacking crazy synth. effects, bizarre lyrics, and ripping solo's, etc. But, this just goes to show that Ween can make any type of music and make it sound incredible....now for the bonus track, i love it. Who Dat? alone, makes this cd single worth buying. i just wish they put it on White Pepper so i didnt have to buy this cd to listen to it. And the Grobe from White Pepper makes the cd even better...so all in all, great music, so buy the cd.

Of course like all things Ween, this is a must have. The song Who Dat? is the real gem here. Those in the know are aware of the bounty of b-sides and rare tracks that are in the Ween arsenal, and this just adds to it.

Coming from a wholly unique place (at least from my perspective) this delicious slab of music has that little "something" that all Ween music emanates. The down side? I've never heard (or heard of them doing) this tune in concert. But other than that, i guess i'd agree with the other reviewer that it would have been nice to have on White Pepper (like the Japanese pressing), but what the hell, i'm just glad it exists.

One of my favorite tunes from one of my favorite bands that has a plentiful supply of greatness to choose from. And if you haven't heard Stay Forever or the Grobe (doubtful - I'd imagine this is for completists rather than casual newbies) then you're in for a double treat. For the big mamba jamba, go get WHITE PEPPER (and then the rest of their catalog) and see why Ween is the greatest band that exists on the planet right now. And of course, you will not see a better live show anywhere either. HAIL YEAH, MANG!

5.0 out of 5 stars rubber ducky, you're the one..., August 21, 2000

What else can be said about this tune...it rocks. The essence of boognish oozes through it. The bluegrassy tunes oozing down my spine made me have to pinch a loaf...i think the brothers meant that to happen. Back to Basom brings vivid depictions of the end song for the John Travolta 70's movie, Bubble boy, and John Denver shooting up. I swear, I can almost feel the young Travolta wishing to be released from his captive bubble while hearing this tune. That, and I look for my weedeater. Who Dat. Yes, how prophetic, who dat...for, when you think, who really is dat? Is it your baby's daddy? No, just ween. This one should've been on white pepper. My only disappointment is that this is an import, and amazon feels the need to charge almost the same price as the album for it. Of course, one could always check out weenradio to hear who dat...oh, maybe i've said too much...
