survival guide makes staying at home a reality!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Stay-at-Home Parent's Survival Guide (Paperback)
This is an accessible, practical and easy to follow guide to help parents with the important but somewhat daunting thought of staying home full-time with the children. Tinglof's style is full of humor and ease, helping the reader feel comfortable about the subject and ready to make the attempt! The book is thorough without being cumbersome. I especially liked the tips provided by other parents which are dispersed throughout the book. There is a real feeling of contact with other struggling parents! Christina Baglivi Tinglof has provided a wonderful examination of parenting and how staying at home can work for so many of us.

This review is from: The Stay-at-Home Parent's Survival Guide (Paperback)
Open this marvelous book to any page and find solid advice, sensitivity, humor, and warmth. The author has been where you are and knows what you need: a life raft, a laugh, a practical, down-to-earth solution--fast! This is the kind of book that every parent, grandparent, child care worker, and occasional babysitter must have.

Nothing new,

This review is from: The Stay-at-Home Parent's Survival Guide (Paperback)
I was so excited after hearing great reviews about this book. I searched the local library to check out this book. There is nothing new in this book for Mothers/Fathers that have been stay-at-home parents. I think this book would be good for NEWLY stay-at-home parents. This book said it was to offer "unique" ways to handle the day-to-day tasks. There was nothing unique about anything in this book. "Helpful tips" do not buy this book, check it out from your library.

This book did NOTHING for me. I can't even explain it because I skipped most of it and it never drew in my attention. I gave one star because it had some good project ideas to do with your children and that was about the only positive thing I could say about this book.

The book and chapter titles sound promising, but unfortunately the content fails to deliver. She just skims the surface of these issues and says nothing that isn't common sense.
