The steadfast heart indeed.,
By Pat "readaholic" (Atlanta,GA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Steadfast Heart (Faerie Tale Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
A beautiful love story based on the fairytale The Steadfast Tin Soldier.Lord Vincent Kimball had the women of the ton falling at his feet and a promising career in politics but he couldn't forget his first love Chantal who he had nearly married ten years before, but she disappeared before they could marry. He frantically searched for her but never found her.Ten years later he finds her again but she pretends not to know him.He pursues her relentlessly but she has secrets she refuses to share with him and she refuses to tell him why she left him. Finally he kidnaps her and keeps her with him until they resolve some major issues. They get married and return to London but there are still conflicts to resolve.I give 5 stars to Vince as a hero.He was more than steadfast in his love for Chantal, all the time they were apart he was worried about what was happening to her believing she was cold or hungry or hurt with no one to help her he was a very sensitive hero.I was a little annoyed at Chantal because of the way she needlessly hurt vince by disappearing from his life and the big secret she kept that he had a right to know about and even when he found her again she kept up the pretense too long that she wasn't Chantal. In the end however, she really redeemed herself.A really wonderful love story

This book is breathtaking. It was so hard for me to put down. And I was so happy to find out that there is a book that preludes it. I am excited to read it.
