About the Author

Debbie Alsdorf is a popular speaker and director of women's ministries at Cornerstone Fellowship in Livermore, California, where she teaches women's Bible studies and works with prison outreach and women in recovery. She is married with a blended family of four teenagers, two cats, and her beloved dog Bubba. She also wrote Steadfast Love.

I would recommend the STEADFAST LOVE bible study (as well as the second book in the series, LIVING LOVE) to Christians and non-Christians alike. I believe it was written especially for women, however, the author's ideas go beyond gender and really pinpoint what matters to all of us as human beings... acceptance and the need for feeling loved and valued as individuals. I especially like the format this author uses in her studies. I am a visual type of person and when I write down concepts and check word definitions, I understand and remember them much better than I would if I only read through them. This study was so wonderful, in that the author has the reader/participant look up and actually write out word definitions and bible verses. Debbie asks simple questions to have the readers determine for themselves what they believe the verses are saying and then, rather than leave them wondering if they have really understood the idea, she goes on to give the answer. I also enjoyed the little glimpses into her personal life experiences that have taught her, first hand, God's all-encompassing and unconditional love. She impresses on each reader that God wants a personal relationship with EACH ONE of us and that ALL of us are precious in His sight. Lesson #4 was my personal favorite... where Debbie uses Psalm 139 to show us how "fearfully and wonderfully" we were made. Then she continues on in Lesson #5 to point out that God had all our days written out before we were born... in other words, He had a real design and purpose in mind for each of our lives when He was creating us. How awesome to know that we are here for a reason and no matter what others may think of us, We are unique and truly special to God! After all, in the whole scheme of things, what else really matters? When we really "own" the concept that God loves, values and truly cherishes us, we can move forward with confidence knowing that He is always by our side and we have nothing to fear. I really love books with happy endings!
