The music scene was next to nothing in the mid-western town of Billings Montana where Korben grew up. Erin and Chad Gerber found themselves in a musician's nightmare. Chad began performing out of state for different bands, and eventually ended up on tour with a Dallas based hip-hop group. Unhappy at how things turned out, the two began to devise their escape from small town America. Chad borrowed a 4-track recorder, the two recorded several horrible sounding songs, and sent them off to one of the contacts Chad made through touring. The demo was well received in Los Angeles, so Erin and Chad picked up what little they had and moved. Within one week of moving to Los Angeles, they met Stone's Throw Recording artist Aloe Blacc, whom they began recording with on a regular basis in his studio. They recorded an EP that received international airplay for their single "Only For You", and the follow up track "Another Glass Bottle". This combined with performing all over Los Angeles, and up and down the Sunset Strip, caught the attention of Sony Records, Capitol Records, Hollywood Records, Thrive Records, entertainment lawyers, and all types of entertainment professionals. Korben signed to the privately owned 3D People Records in 2006, completely under their own terms. Shortly after, they recorded and released their debut album "Steady Fools", which has gone on to receive critical acclaim worldwide. Their single "Super Selfish", along with title track "Steady Fools" can be heard on radio, college radio, web radio, and satellite radio, nationally, and internationally. Korben has recorded with members of Guns N Roses, Toto, The Georgia Satellites, Aloe Blacc, performed live on, and guest hosted Music Plus TV's; Ten Deep, been interviewed on the UK Sky Digital Network, and done several live studio performances for radio stations across the U.S..
