Our friends brought these to our weekly Sunday concert-picnic in the park last summer and we LOVED them. They actually work...well. They seem very durable. Simple and brilliant design. Just stick them into the lawn and set your stemware on them. Make sure they are out of the way of running children. Our friends only had two steady sticks, so the rest of the group had to deal with wine glasses falling over constantly and they did. We learned to either drink quickly or bring cheap wine you don't mind spilling on the lawn. I am now looking to purchase my own set.

I've spilled a fair amount of expensive wine on the grass in my time, so a use-it-anywhere-there's-a-soft-surface wine glass holder is an attractive concept. Unfortunately, they are also a bit tricky to use. The delicate twist/lift action that is necessary to get the wine glass out of the holder is distracting and inconvenient, detracting from the pleasure of the moment. Still, it's definitely superior to watching your wine trickle away in the grass because the glass decided to tip on the uneven surface, or having to maintain a constant hold on your glass while trying to eat your food.

Perfect if you are sitting in the grass, just a few inches from the ground. I would prefer them to be taller, and align next to a beach chair, and not such a trip hazard.

These are GREAT! The first time we used them at an outdoor concert, we had a few people come up to us to ask about them. Couldn't be happier. I bought some extra to give as gifts because the price is so right, too.

This is the best invention yet for wine lovers! I go to a lot of wine festivals and wineries, and was always so tired of having to find a way to hold up the wine glass without spilling. Problem solved! These are a must for any wine lover or drinker.

Yes I agree I admit I was a little disappointed when I first opened the box and saw how short the sticks were, but then I realised that your glass would be on the grass/sand anyway and these sticks are meant to be holders that would probably be at about the same level.

A longer stem may be hazardous around a picnic blanket if you are regularly getting up etc.

Can be used with wine or champagne glasses - size of glass is not relevant.

Anyway, they work perfectly, I have no problem "twisting" the glass to get it out - I HIGHLY recommend them.

An inexpensive and useful item or gift.

I got a set of Steady Sticks last summer after seeing them used at Music in the Park. I love my set, and we often have people join us at these kinds of events, so I am now ordering a second set. By the way, Amazon's price is $1 less than Crate & Barrel, where I got the last ones. Yes, these are short, but they work well next to a lawn chair, and besides, most of the places that let you bring both chairs and wine to their concerts, require that the chairs be low to the ground anyway, so everyone can see.

Exactly what I ordered, what I wanted and as described. At half the price I would pay for the same brand here in AUstralia.

These have been useful for when we go camping and want to drink some wine on the beach without getting sand all over our glasses or drinking out of mugs. I could also see these being a great on a picnic or for backyard entertaining.

The only drawback is that I don't know if I'll get a chance to use them as much as I'd like!

Absolutely a must for holding drinks at concerts with lawn seating.
The opening could be a little wider, but a few minutes on the work bench fixed that, easy enough.
