Steal Shield was designed to project an imposing look of security while in use for light to medium duty trailers using 1 7/8 in., 2 in. or 2 5/16 in. standard lever lock coupler systems. Once in place the Steal Shield is held in place by a unique self contained locking mechanism. Steal Shield comes with a handy Come Along bracket that mounts on the trailer tongue and provides convenient storage for the Steal Shield when not in use. So I saw this "lock" and wondered how it worked. The "can" slips over the hitch and securely attaches itself to the handle. It covers everything to inlcude the nut a thief can unscrew and defeat other security devices. This lock also allows you to use a Trimax coupler lock for even more protection if they happen to remove this thing off.. I don't know how they would remove this without a blow torch or loud electric saw.. but hey, its worth mentioning!
