Product Description

When a lonely political staffer combines a perilous gay romance with political skullduggery, he will end up Stealing the Mayor’s Underpants.

Mike Dodger wants to elect the first gay mayor of Portland. Mike knows that elections are won through dirty tricks, lies, mudslinging, and out-and-out election fraud. Unfortunately, the candidate Kim Flanders believes in truth, justice, and clean campaigning, so Mike must find ways to mask his nefarious activities.

When the incumbent mayor, Justin T. Albee, makes a televised speech mocking his challenger’s homosexuality, Mike responds with every trick in his bag. Then he meets the mayor’s chief-of-staff, a male of eerie beauty, and Mike falls madly in lust. Sadly, Lance Hancock, the object of Mike’s yearnings, has not recognized his own gayness, so Mike is faced with the problems of getting around Kim Flanders’ scruples, tarnishing Albee politically, and seducing Lance.

About the Author
David Holly lives, moves, and has his being in Portland, Oregon and environs. He is fascinated by the human penchant for odd mythologies, bizarre rituals, diverse religions, forlorn hopes, and broken dreams. He lives in a garish apartment with multihued walls hung with Haitian paintings and shelved with two thousand books. Sharing the apartment are sundry fur-bearing fellow mortals. He is exceptionally fond of strong coffee, red wine, English bitters, rich stout, inverted roller coasters, nude beaches, and hot-looking guys. He wears bright colors, tight slacks, exotic underwear, and slinky swim briefs. He is joyously pagan and loves making merry in heathen celebrations, marching in pride parades, and frolicking naked on Sauvie Island’s Collins Beach. 4.0 out of 5 stars Wild and Crazy Good, November 14, 2011

This review is from: Stealing the Mayor's Underpants (Kindle Edition)
What a fun read! I laughed from beginning to end of this wild and crazy story, with equally wild and crazy characters. In fact, too many great characters to list them all here. But this rollicking story just makes me want to see more of Mike Dodger and his co-horts, including lucious but confused boyfriend Lance, budding ball-breaker sister Janet, and family scamp Mahatma.

Along with the laughs, this book includes some lessons in political history. A lot of interesting, entertaining and known politicians and their escapades and foibles are seemlessly folded into the story line in a manner that challenged me to pull up the bibliographical references and take a stroll back through some of the cited politicos finer and "not so finer" moments.

This book is wild and crazy good!
