5.0 out of 5 stars Handy Helper January 7, 2010

When in a hurry to make 45 Christmas gift books, this product helped speed up the process by binding the fabric to the bookboard, as well as the inside pages to the cover. A great invention that's much neater than glue in a bottle!

I used Steam a Seam 2 for years and it worked great. Fast forward to today. When I ran out of the "older" stuff I bought a new package. No longer does it stay stuck while you're working on a piece. When I do my lettering I trace all the letters onto one side, peel off the backing and stick it to the material. Then I cut out the letters. With this new stuff as I'm cutting out the letters the adhesive falls OFF. Then I must stop and reposition it, and try again. Over and over I'm doing this. I don't know why they changed how they've made this, because no longer does it stay stuck while you're cutting out things. I complained to the company and was given a replacement, but this replacement is not working any better for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST STUFF EVER November 8, 2010

I've been using Steam A Seam for a few months now and it works perfectly with my aplique work. The double sided Steam A Seam is my absolute recomendation for projects that involve aplique. I've used other brands before but they're not compatable with Steam A Seam. The main reason is becasue the type I use is sticky on both sides. In the past I've struggled to be able to keep the aplique cut out attached to the iron on material. I work alot with sequin dot fabric and it's a pain and more if i don't have the double sided Steam A Seam. I'm now saving up my money to buy the bulk size order! :o) THANKS SO MUCH STEAM A SEAM!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Used to be a good product August 8, 2012

I have had the same experience as other reviewers. I have used Steam-a-seam very sucessfully for years. I am an experienced quilter. It was the only fusible I used. Then I ran out of the old & the "new" is terrible. A waste of time & money. They offered to replace it but I'm looking for something that works.

1.0 out of 5 stars Inferior product ruined my quilt. July 22, 2012
I'm making a very detailed art qwuilt with lots of applique to do. After getting most of the pieces fused on, I decided to practice the applique method and just discovered this garbage gums up my needle so bad I'm going to have to stop and clean my needle off every couple of minutes. BUT, the worst iS that the gummed up needle pulls the dark fabric through the light colored flowers so the stitches are very noticeable. THIS IS GOING TO TAKE SEVERAL TIMES LONGER THAN IT SHOULD, AND WILL NEVER LOOK AS GOOD AS IT COULD HAVE. I WILL NEVER USE THIS STUFF AGAIN!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars doesn't stick unless you steam iron it October 31, 2011
By C. K.
I bought the 1/4" width - it doesn't stick unless you steam iron it. It is still helpful once you do steam iron it - save a lot of pinning. So, giving it 3 stars.

I don't know, maybe the wider widths stick better, even without ironing.
