About the Author

Everett B. Woodruff was a Project Engineer at A. M. Kinney, Inc., a leading architectural, engineering and design process firm. He was involved in the design of industrial and utility power plants and provided consultation in steam plant operation and maintenance; in plant performance test requirements; and in the development of overall power plant specifications.

Herbert B. Lammers was a consultant for various industries which were dependent upon steam power plants for their reliable source of power. He provided expertise in the efficient combustion of various fuels and in the economic operation and maintenance of boilers and the various power plant systems.

Thomas F. Lammers was a Senior Project Manager with Babcock & Wilcox Co., one of the world’s leading designers and suppliers of steam generating systems and related power plant equipment. During his 36 years with the company. Mr. Lammers had various management responsibilities in the areas of engineering, marketing and project management. He lives in Akron, Ohio.

The book is good to see lots of pictures of steam plant equipment and a bit is given explaining what the equipment does, but I found the "Steam & Diesel Power Plant Operators Examinations" book much more powerful to pass fireman and engineers exams, including employment interviews! I suggest to buy both of these great books!

The best book on the market for training of power plant operators. Revisions keep up with the field. Have been using this book for training power plant opreators to optain their Massachusetts Stationary Engineers and Firemen's licenses, for over 15 years.

This is a review on the KINDLE version of this book.

I am using the Kindle DX, I was looking forward to getting Steam Plant Operation in kindle format so I wouldnt have to lug around this hefty tome.

I was saddened and dismayed to find you could not skip through chapters or even select a chapter to jump to from the table of contents. you would have to either type in the page you wanted, or go one page at a time...

for the price they are asking it is simply not worth it. I quickly returned the book for a refund. I'll stick to my paper copy for now.

I give the paper version of this book 4.5 stars.
