My family loves this whole series, and Steam in the Winter is no exception. Brilliant footage, great narration and lots of live steam engine/train sounds...feels like you're there in person minus the cold! A great DVD to get you in the holiday spirit or as a holiday gift.

I think this dvd has one of the prettiest sceneries, but after 30 minutes, my children always go to sleep, which is a good thing, right?! The narrator is not dull or boring, I love the sound of the whistle from steam trains and sounds of the steam and the wheels spinning, against the beautiful backdrop of snowy mountains are very calming. There are educational tidbits, but mainly the dvd is comprised of the trains going around on snow-filled tracks, and the sounds fill up your house as if you are in one of them! Does make you sleepy after awhile which is not a bad thing at all! :)
