Awesome product!,
This review is from: SteamFast SF-465 QuickSteam Professional Garment Steamer (Kitchen)
I decided to buy a steamer after using a Jiffy Steamer at my mom's house. I was a bit hesitant about how well it would compare since the steam fast product is signicantly less expensive than the comparable Jiffy Steamer product. The Good Housekeeping endorsement of this product sealed the deal. I have been thrilled by how well it works. My clothes look great after steaming them! It is great for replacing ironing clothes, and you can use it to remove wrinkles on things that I would *never* try ironing - like wool sweaters, suit jackets, draperies/sheers, knit tops. The other big advantage for me personally is that all I have to do is to plug it in to use it - no more dragging out the ironing board. The mfr does recommend the use of distilled or deionized water to prolong the life/minimize descaling maintenance. A gallon of water will probably fill the tank twice - which translates into about 8 hours of use. Do shop around. Cost varies significantly from place to place. UPDATE: Dec 9 2006. Still have my steamer, still love it! No problems with it whatsoever.

The on/off switch broke the second time I tried to use this steamer. The unit was repaired under warranty by the manufacturer. Customer Service was polite but sluggish -- my initial email requesting help from the company went unanswered for 9 days. My email to the company regarding a subsequent customer service issue was ignored for more than 2 weeks. Finally I contacted CEO Benny Lee. His associate, Homer Wang, responded to my email that same day, called me on the phone, and had the problem resolved immediately. I am recommending the product because it has worked very well since it was repaired, and because ultimately Top Innovations, Inc. stood behind its product and treated me fairly.

I received this as a christmas gift. After 30 days of use I really love my steamer. I can blast through an entire weeks worth of laundry in just a few hours while I watch television.
The lint brush that clips right onto the front is great for all of those sueded micro fiber materials they have out now. I also really like the freedom of movement I have not being stuck behind an ironing board and having to walk around it all of the time to change garments. The steam heats up quickly and is so portable that I can turn it on and start steaming within 5 minutes of my toddler going down for a nap. When she wakes up I can turn it off and roll it right out of the way in about 1 minute flat. Even if I only get 30 minutes to do steam it's still easy on and easy off. Warning though, the steam is extremely hot and powerful. I did get a minor burn on my fingers from not being careful. I recommend using "props" like plastic hangers up a shirt sleeve to hold it at the righ angle. And laying a garment on a table/bed to steam a crease. Otherwise, I'm quite happy with my new toy. Ironing is a boring chore but steaming is fun.

I was a little lerry about purchasing this maching because I wasn't sure if I would use it to justify the spend but as I looked around, Amazon had the best price and I saw the Good Housekeeping logo, which means Good Housekeeping doubles the warranty of the manufacturer. I was very satisified as the maching put out a lot of steam and I was suprised how fast it heats up. I looked at other machines...and the only one that came close to the the SteamFast was Jiffy. the Jiffy unit has a smaller tank, lower wattage and it is more expensive. I feel confident that I made the right choice and I use it every day!!!

I THINK ITS GREAT AND AS FOR THE DRIPPING WATER FROM STEAMER SPOUT ,YOU JUST HAVE TO HOLD THE TRIGGER OTHER WISE THE WATER WILL COOL DOWN AND DRIP INSTEAD OF STEAM. ITS JUST A TRICK.A FEW TIMES USING THE STEAMER YOULL GET IT. I LIKE IT ALOT ,I HAVE AN IRON I GOT BY THIS BRAND AND IT IS WONDERFUL TOO.I RECCOMMEND THIS BRAND ALOT.

I bought this steamer a couple of months ago, after going into work with a wrinkly shirt I did not have time to remedy, and have been very pleased since. Getting ready is a breeze now. The steamer heats up within a minute and works very efficiently. The stand to hang your garments is very convenient and, I would say, imperative to efficient steaming. The only problem I have had is that it squirts a little water now and then, but I expected that with any steamer. I highly recommend this. It is worth the money!

not happy with customer service...caveat emptor,

When I ordered this steamer I was very excited. I have had this product since June 21 but I can't use it. You see, the steamer hose was defective. The steam hose did not fit into the hose inlet. Reason: the plastic cover of the hose has a seam down the middle that was "open" slightly, preventing it from fitting into the inlet to the steamer. I could not remedy it, so I went online and sent an email to Steam Fast's (aka Top Innovations) customer service. They responded in short time, saying that once I completed the warranty registration process, they would send out a new hose to solve the problem. I faxed over what they asked for, and on June 29 was told that the hose would be sent after July 5 because they were moving and everything was packed. And sorry for the inconvenience.
On July 14, I emailed asking for an estimated ship date. Having gotten no response, I emailed them again on July 20. My excitement for this product is waning and I debated either sending everything back or contacting the CEO like a previous writer did. Well, I finally got an email on July 29, apologizing for the delay and promising that the hose would be mailed out on Monday (or Tuesday at the latest). Nothing yet. It's a waiting game, and pretty darn annoying too. Good Housekeeping gave the product a best rating in 2004. I can't vouch for the quality, but I give customer service very low marks. You decide. Caveat emptor.

Good steamer, but broke down after two years,

I bought this steamer in August 2005, and I swore I would never iron again. I used it 2-3 times a week, and it was fantastic. The only problem I had was that it would occasionally get clogged with mineral deposits which would come out onto the clothes, but using distilled water helped solve that problem.
But a month ago, the heating element in the main unit stopped working. Top Innovations said they could send a new unit, but the cost of that was only a little less than buying a whole new steamer. I've noticed that most clothing stores use steamers made by Jiffy, which is where my next steamer will be coming from. UPDATE JANUARY 2011: I've been using the Jiffy Steamer J-2000 Residential Series 1300-Watt Garment Steamer ever since I wrote the initial review, and it has been really terrific -- even better than my old SteamFast. And it hasn't broken down! I'd recommend the Jiffy over this one.

I'm a very dissatisfied customer. First of all, when the steamer arrived, the box looked as if it been handled by a gorilla. The product does not appear to be damaged, but when using it, it sprays large amounts of water all over the garments and the floor. It makes such a mess, it's not worth my time to use it. Good HouseKeeping screwed up when they put their seal on this product.
