I ordered this part because I already had the Hoover SteamVac for our carpets and wanted to see how it did on the tile flooring in the kitchen. It took a couple minutes to get snapped on to the vacuum correctly, but is otherwise easy to use and clean afterwards. From what I could tell, it cleaned the floor probably as well as a regular mop, but it took about three times as long (once over with the solution, then a couple more times to suck up all the water, not to mention the maneuverability is a pain!) The SteamVac itself is great, but I wouldn't recommend the bare floor attachment, unless you have a lot of extra time to kill.

This is so much easier than mopping and leaves the floor looking great.. simply snaps on and off in a jiffy!

My husband bought the Hoover Steamvac with Spinscrub model F5914-900. We got it mainly for the carpet, but the kitchen floor could use a good cleaning, too. The instructions said for hard floors you needed a hard floor tool so we bought it. I snapped it on and went to work. With the attachment on, the machine sucked up very little water. There was some water in the dirty water tank but the kitchen floor was flooded. So I took off the attachment, sucked up the water and then did the rest of the floor without the attachment. The machine did a good job without the attachment, so I'm wondering what the point of of it is. Especially when it prevent the machine from sucking up water.

The Hoover SteamVac is an amazing carpet cleaner, but it is NOT the best choice for hard floors. It's basically just a rubber mesh wrapped around an oblong piece of black plastic. It just dumps soapy water on the floor, then vacuums half of that water back up.

Pointless. Doesnt scrub anything, and as it keeps the vac off the tile, water does not get sucked up. Maybe it's just to keep your vac from getting chipped/cracked if it hits an irregular tile, but if so they should state that. Floor was soaked! Appears to keep the brushes up, too, as I did not see that it cleaned the grout at all. Gave it an extra star due to fit and was easy to install.

this is a complete waste of money. the water pooled all over our tile floor and the vacuum did not suck it up at all. You could just use a hard mop and have the same outcome. very disappointing for such an expensive carpet/floor cleaner as a whole. my hubs is very thorough and this attachment was a waste. the function of the carpet cleaner is just great but don't rely on this Hoover as a good bare floor cleaner.

My vacuum doesn't suck the water from bare floor at all, leaves it very wet and I had to wipe entire floor by hand after.
Then you still have to clean the tank, attachment, etc. I will use mop. 10X easier.

It's better to have this than nothing on the front of my Hoover. However, having used it I prefer to just mop and once a year hit the floor with a deck brush.

I have to wonder if it's a fit issue or installation issue with some of the negative reviews.Don't drench the floor and it works well for cleaning tile. Easier than a mop and gets things cleaner too. Just don't go crazy with the spray, ok!

The product slipped off of the steam cleaner, and it looks like nothing will get rid of the old ground in dirt on my kitchen floor. I think good old hands-n-knees might be the only solution.
