About the Author
Dr. K. C. Hong is the founding president of KCH Consulting Inc. that provides technical consulting services on thermal recovery and reservoir management to the oil industry worldwide. He retired from Chevron Corporation in 1997 after 34 years of distinguished service in research and field assignments, the last of which was Senior Advisor-Reservoir Engineer. Dr. Hong has done much to advance enhanced oil recovery using steam, reservoir management, and compositional thermal simulation. He has authored over 50 technical papers in the areas of chemical and petroleum engineering and holds 9 U.S. patents. He continues to teach a continuing education course based on the subject book. He was honored with the Thermal and Heavy Oil Pioneer Award in 1999 and the Distinguished Technical Achievement Award in 2001.
