I have one of these life jackets, and it's definitely a quility built life jacket. I tested it by jumping into the lake one day, even though I cannot swim. Sure enough it supported me in the water without any trouble. If general safety is your only purpose in looking for a life jacket, this one is a safe bet.

Comfort varies with this jacket. While they are more comfortable than less expensive life jackets, they are not particularly comfortable during rowing. The life jacket has a tendency to slip up from my waist during rows, even with a secure fit. If you're just spectating in boat and not doing anything, however, this jacket does just fine.

Alternatives to this around the same price is Cabela's Full Motion Vest. It allows more freedom of movement during rowing, and is much more comfortable.

this is a cheap and effective back up life vest which i use in my canoe to stay safe and legal. I don;t wear it unless conditions dictate that i should, because it isn't the most comfortable thing to wear when paddling. I would not recommend this for kayaking because of its shape. I tried kayaking in this and it just didn't make it.

Okay...it's a life jacket. It's light, looks good and could just save your life if you go overboard. Why pay $150 for something when these will serve the same purpose for a fraction of that cost? We kayak in Hawaii on the Pacific Ocean so these are pretty much standard equipment. They are comfortable when paddling out to the deep water to watch whales.

I bought two of these recently for use in a two- person kayak used in flat water padding (lakes and rivers). The vests are well- made, lightweight and comfortable (well, as comfortable as a vest can be in the Florida heat in July) and were not "in the way" while paddling the craft around. In the water, the vest will keep you in the proper "reclining on your back with head up" position and float you like a cork. Just be certain to give the three friction straps a snug pull so the vest won't tend to ride up on you in the water.
Unlike a previous reviewer, I felt the vest was quite comfortable while paddling the kayak, but perhaps this may vary with the size and shape of the wearer. All in all, this product is good value for the money, and I would recommend it for general water safety in a canoe or kayak.

Purchased for grandchildren for hotel swimming pool. Kept riding up around their necks.needed to continually adjust for swim and play. Better for "just in case" boating or fishing as long as well adjusted.

these are adequate for my use. We ordered the largest size and they are really too small for an adult of normal weight.

It has a high degree of adjustability which is good. Fortunately, I've haven't had a chance to use it "in anger", but it seems like it would do the job.

It keeps me boat legal for less. Nice life vest for the money. The only critique is that the oversized ones aren't much bigger than normal adult size.

This is just your standard life jacket, nothing special. Not designed to be plush and comfortable, but they are inexpensive. My boys had outgrown their childrens life jackets and I needed extras for guests, these fit the bill. If you are looking for top of the line, wear all day, pro-fisherman vests- keep looking.

This is a life jacket. Look at the picture. No frills........just a life jacket. It will help you float when you fall out of your boat. It will be exactly what you expect.......unless you're a jerk.
