This is a cute little vest, but boy it is VERY SMALL!
We bought this for our 5 year old twins that are on the thin side and weigh 35 lbs (within the weight range of the jacket). But when it arrived, we almost laughed. It is VERY SMALL. Looks like something you would buy for an infant, not for a preschooler. The tag hanging on the jacket says they come in 3 sizes:
infant (0-30)
child (30-50)
but inside this jacket was printed: infant/child (0-50).

Anyway, it is cute, but very small - I can see putting a young child in it, but not a 5 year old.

I purchased two of these for my 3 and 4 year olds and they fit very well. I love the 3 chest buckles in addition to the strap between the legs. I know my kids are secure and the life jacket won't slip up over their heads if they fell overboard. I highly recommend this life jacket.

This is your standard life vest, and it works well. As other reviewers said, it is small. My son weighs 21 pounds and it fits him well. It would not fit a 30-50 pound child. Also important, the color was not as pictured. It is blue with a PINK interior.

Great fit. My son is 3yrs old and around 35lb. He can practice swimming and feels safe. This is not a life preserver but a swimming aid. Keep that in mind as he could go under easily if he starts freaking out. So make sure to stay near them in the water.

Awesome!!! For a mother who is very nervous about having 2 young children on a boat in the first place it is amazing that I was able to relax. The Stearns Life Jackets were perfect. My children were able to float well and I felt like they were both very secure. Of course I had to be right by their side BUT... I wasn't nervous about saving them if something bad occurred with their having these jackets on. Thanks!

Very low price for a great product!!!!!
But size 30-50 Lbs is perfect for my 25 lbs baby boy...
so it fells great for toodler but not for older child.

I bought one for my two year old and one for my three year old. My two year old is short and stocky and my three year old is very tall and skinny, but the vest fits both of them perfect. Very easy to put on and clean. My kids wore them comfortably all day long at the pool. They swam everywhere with them on. One caution though if your daughter is going to wear it for prolonged periods: have her wear board shorts. My daughter did get rope burn on her upper thigh from wearing it all day. Both my kids loved the vest and were comfortable in them. They want to wear them even when they are not swimming. I bought blue ones and didn't have any problems with the color, they were blue and gray.

This was great for my daughter whose weight is in the mid-30s. Although she doesn't swim yet, she feels comfortable going anywhere in a pool when she is wearing it, and it holds her up comfortably. It's US Coast Guard approved, which is nice. I thought the top strap was a little short, and wonder if it will fit her comfortably at 50 pounds.

I'm using the vest with a 43 pound boy. It fits great, and he seems to be very comfortable in it.

This is the perfect jacket for our local swimming pool. My three year old loves it and swam all over the whole pool by himself. My son weighs about 34 pounds and the 30-50 on the smallest strap size is a little big. This is totally fine as we will be able to get several years use out of it.
