Our Sterns & Fosters mattress softened and sagged within 6 months of use. It has sunk in places where we most commonly sleep and remains elevated in the middle area. We were very disappointed especially after sinking gazillions of $$$$ on a purchase that is supposed to last many years. Mattress Firm (where we purchased the mattress) told us that S&F is manufactured by Sealy and acknowledged quality problems with some Sealy mattresses and suggested that we file a claim with Sealy. We were also told that we needed to pay for the Sealy technician to visit our home to verify the claim (which is ridiculous in the first place!!!). After discussing with friends and family we learned that others had experienced issues with Sealy mattresses including returns and replacements. We will never buy a Sealy or S&F product again. Our opinion is confirmed by Consumer Reports which ranks Sealy and S&F at the bottom of the pack. [...] In case you don't have access to CR, the top ranked brands are - Tempur Pedic, Original Mattress Factory, Select Comfort, Denver Mattress and Simmons.
