Stearns Infant's Heads-Up Life Vest

My 9-month-old son didn't really enjoy wearing this vest, but I don't think he would have liked any life vest. It's a nicely made vest and looks like it would keep an infant's head above the water. My son could not reach his arms together in front of his body while wearing the vest and I had to hold him at an angle on my lap because when sitting upright the top of the vest went way up under his chin. However, my son doesn't have much of a neck, so this might not be a problem for other babies.

This jacket fit my 5 month old perfect. It's pretty easy to strap him in and he doesn't seem to mind the jacket.

Good product! Just what I had expected. Fit my 5 month old son great. He is 17 pounds. He doesn't like it much, but don't think he would like any brand.

Excellent life vest. Keeps Babies head out of the water. A bit bulky for water play though

I love how I have no worries that my child isn't going to be going under with this. His head will be kept from bobbing forward for him to breathe in air and it fits nicely around his body though he had a problem with his arms touching so he couldn't hold anything. I also like the handle for easy yanking out of the water. HOWEVER, the problem that I have with it is that his head is ALWAYS facing up... into the sun. Even with a hat on, he's squinting and his face and eyes are being exposed. It's also a bit bulky to hold him in it but it's better bulky than unsafe. Because of how they always face up, I stopped using it with my older child long before I needed to and switched to a different life vest.

I got this because we were taking my 8 month old son to the beach and I was nervous about having him in the water. As it turns out, other than a trial run in the hotel pool, I never used it. What I realized was that if the water was so rough that I might think of having him wear this, then I wasn't going to take him in. We only ended up going to beaches that were in coves, and then it was very easy to hold on to him in the water. He did not enjoy wearing the vest. I will say, though that it helped him float very well. Also, I should note, this vest is not rated for open sea - I was going on a cruise which was part of why I bought this. There is a different level of safety for open sea. The cruise ship provided a life vest for that purpose (although I couldn't tell an obvious difference). If you're looking for something rated for open water, you might want to do more research.

Our child is only 1 and 20lbs so it is bulky but definitely puts her on her back with her head out of the water any time she is let go of. I think next summer she will be able to control herself more but I love how safe it is for now incase she ever slips or falls.

The vest seems sturdy and I feel safe with my daughter in it. She wears it when in a boat. It does not fit her comfortably, although I am guessing most life jackets wouldn't fit babies well since they are little and vests are bulky. Her arms cannot come together while in it. The top squeezes and pushes on her neck. she is 20#/29inches. I have to hold her in a reclined position when she wears it because she isn't able to sit comfortably even in a baby seat since it is bulky.

Fits well on our 2 month old. The color is great, really stands out against the water. Was surprised how hard it was to find a life jacket that wasn't blue -- wouldn't it be good to see a floating infant that can't talk? Make sure to snap some pics as your baby will look hilarious in this outfit.

We are really happy with this product and feel confident that it will keep our new Granddaughter safe and sound as she enjoys her first summer out on the lake with Grandma and Granpa and Mommy and Daddy. It is also very colorful and will look adorable on her.
