5.0 out of 5 stars Great for motorcycling, September 24, 2010

Smitty (Pittsburgh !) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Stearns Neoprene Cold Water Sportsman's Gloves (Misc.)
I bought these at a motorcycle rally 10 years ago. They told me that they were scuba diving gloves. I can't verify that but it looks like the same material that wetsuits are made from; foam-like, but tougher. The fingers are precurved, in the natural relaxed position of your hand. They are excellent outdoor cold & wet weather gloves.
I ordered a large (my usual size)& they fit very snug if not too snug.(I think they are supposed to be snug) If you are between sizes, maybe order the next size up. All I use them for is dirt bike riding in the fall months,
so I can't comment on how durable they are. When I need another pair, I would buy these again definatley..

3.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, just not very durable..., November 18, 2011
This review is from: Stearns Neoprene Cold Water Sportsman's Gloves (Misc.)
Got a pair of these to replace mechanics gloves while working in cold/wet weather. They fit snugly, keep your hands warm in 20-30 degree weather, and still allow for good dexterity while operating equipment, hand tools, etc.

However, after only 3 days of use, the palms have begun to tear and separate. Instead of being made into the glove or stitched on, they're very poorly glued together.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Outdoor Gloves, March 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
SEVENTEEN years ago, I got a pair of these gloves as a gift, and they turned out to be the best outdoor gloves I ever owned. The elasticity of the glove allows for snug fit, and because it is pre-shaped, great dexterity is possible. The surface texture of the palms and fingers gives outstanding grip. You can pick up a single sheet of paper, small bolts and screws, or even coins. They comfortably grip tools and handles. The gloves really are waterproof too. They wouldn't last for abrasive jobs like handling concrete blocks or rough lumber, but they are very durable otherwise. On single-digit temperature days they aren't warm enough for long exposure, so break out the mittens or ski gloves for that, but on most days these are my go-to gloves. When my first pair finally gave out this year, I immediately replaced them, even though they aren't cheap. What does that tell you?
